FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Spam Manager costs $29.95 to register. At this time, we are providing a 30 day free evaluation of the full version of Spam Manager. If you wish to continue using the program after the 30 day evaluation period, please register it.

Q: Am I going to lose any valid emails?

A: You should be careful when first using the program to make sure that you understand what the program is doing. You should quickly check through the rejected messages section to make sure that nothing has been tagged that should not have been. As you use the program, the people that regularly send you messages should be tagged as friends. Keep in mind that if the people sending you emails are sending them from a blacklisted server, they will be tagged as coming from a DNSBL server. You can tag them as a friend, but they really need to get their server's IP address removed from the appropriate blacklist DNS servers in order for that not to happen. (They should probably contact their ISP to let them know that they have a problem. More and more people are using these DNSBLs to reject messages coming from blacklisted servers)

Q: Will Spam Manager work with AOL, Compuserve, or HotMail?

A: Spam Manager only works with HotMail or POP3 mail accounts at this time. If your ISP does not support a POP3 connection to your mailbox, then you cannot use Spam Manager. If you currently use Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora, then it's quite likely that there should be no problem using Spam Manager (The exception is for MSN users. MSN requires Secure Authentication which is currently not supported by Spam Manager). For AOL users, take a look at http://www.aol2pop.com. They provide a package to check your AOL email through a POP client.

Q: I need help removing my server from a blacklist. Can you help?

A: No we cannot. If you wish more information on how to address this problem, we recommend visiting http://ordb.org/faq/. They have an excellent site describing a lot of the issues people have with DNSBL databases.

Q: I've Installed Spam Manager, but I can't get it working.

A: Check out our technical support page for help.
